Insect Explore Day

1. Today you get time to explore insects.
2. Click on this link to go to DK Find Out Insects
3. Take 15-20 minutes to read about insects, take the quiz or just explore. You should try and learn something new.
4. Open SeeSaw and write, draw or use a photo to show something new that you learned about insects. Post this to your name.

DL18 - Big Bugs

1. Watch this video on BIG BUGS. (not by me)

2. Which one is your favorite? Are there other big bugs that you know about?
3. Pick one of the big bugs from the video or find your own species on the internet.
4. Make a post of your favorite big bug on SeeSaw and tell us what kind it is.

3. You can be as creative you want as long as it has the correct body parts and legs.

2. Have an adult help you find a picture of an amazing insect.

• Try searching the word - beetles, wasps, ants and other insects

3. Post the picture to SeeSaw and use the drawing tool to find the three main body parts of the insect - head, thorax, abdomen

4. Save your finished drawing to your name under SeeSaw.

DL14 - Carnivorous Plants

1. Did you know there are plants that eat insects?
2. Watch the video below to learn more about them.


3. Pick a type of carnivorous plant that is your favorite.
4. Have a parent help you look up some pictures of the carnivorous plant you like best.
5. Save the pictures and post it on SeeSaw with the name of the plant (bonus for using the scientific name!)

DL13-Big and Small

2. Go out and see what you can find is the BIGGEST and smallest plant around your home.
3. Take a picture of each.
4. Open SeeSaw and post both or your pictures. You can add the words "biggest" and "smallest." I wonder who has the biggest plant and smallest plant in kindergarten!
5. Post the SeeSaw to your name.
6. Check out the new Top 5 Video!

DL12 - Grass is cool

1. Watch the instructional video.

2. Take a picture and label the parts of normal everyday grass.

DL9-Seeds in your home

1. Watch the instructional video.

2. Watch this short video about what is inside a bean.




3. Plants use seeds to grow. Some seeds are very small and some are very large.

4. See if you can find some types of seeds in your house. If you can not, you can look up some pictures with an adult from the internet.

5. Take a picture of the seeds that you find and post them to your science SeeSaw account. You can also try putting the seeds into a paper towel sealing it with a plastic bag to see how they grow.
